Responds in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing, and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services. Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.
- Greets and completes established check-in procedures for arriving guests daily, using both manual and computerized methods, ensuring guest satisfaction and room requests are met.
- Facilitates guest departure (check-out) by following established procedures to close guest accounts and prepare rooms for next guests.
- Calculates and posts monies, receipts, guest accounts, and other credits accurately to ensure timely and precise billing.
- Answers inquiries and accepts reservations via in person and telephone, communicating hotel rates and information effectively, using suggestive selling techniques to increase occupancy and revenue.
- Maintains good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area events to answer questions and concerns promptly and knowledgeably.
- Operates PBX equipment for calls, wake-up requests, and guest paging to ensure efficient service.
- Controls cash transactions at the front desk, maintaining responsibility for personal bank as per hotel policy.
- Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
Education/Formal Training
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Luxury hospitality experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
- High school-level mathematical aptitude, knowledge of cash handling, and experience with computerized cash registers.
- Experience in customer service and dealing directly with the public.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Ability to handle stressful situations tactfully and with understanding.
- Highly organized with attention to detail, capable of multitasking.
Physical Demands
- Able to read written communication and operate computer, calculator, and telephone keyboards.
- Able to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
- 90% standing, with occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Environment
Prolonged standing at a climate-controlled indoor workstation under fluorescent lighting. 95% indoor work.
