Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking a part-time cook to prepare meals from scratch following standardized recipes and dietary requirements. You will ensure proper temperatures, sanitation, and portioning while delivering excellent customer service in a team setting.

The role requires ability to work with various cooking techniques, read recipes, and maintain logs as part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience as a cook or two years in food service preferred.
• Graduate of vocational school or culinary program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine food items and prepare them for service.
• Prepare from scratch that is appetizing and appealing.
• Execute culinary knife skills.
• Read and follow standardized recipes.
• Cook to order and in quantities according to menu and servings.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and sanitation, per logs.
• Dishes meals and portion controls per diet tickets.
• Observe and test foods to ensure thorough cooking.
• Gain cleanliness and sanitation compliance in work area.
