Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a part-time cook to perform daily kitchen duties, preparing and planning foods according to menus and standardized recipes. The role requires accurate portion control, proper sanitation, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with one year of cooking experience or two years in food service preferred, and may need State Food Safety Sanitation Certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience as a cook or two years of experience in food service preferred.
• Graduate of vocational school or culinary program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines food items and prepares them for service.
• Prepares and plans foods according to menu, order, diet, and standardized recipe and portion control.
• Cooks to order and ensures foods are appetizing and properly cooked.
• Maintains clean and sanitized work area and uses proper sanitation techniques.
• Orders supplies and maintains temperature and log sheets as required.
• Dishes meals and contributes to team effort in a fast-paced environment.
