Job summary

ShopRite of Lyndhurst in Lyndhurst, NJ is seeking a Seafood Clerk to deliver excellent customer service while preparing and packing fresh and frozen seafood. The role requires the ability to read and communicate in English, lift 25 lbs regularly, and stand for long shifts.

You will greet customers, assist with product selection, ensure proper code-dating and restocking, and maintain a clean, safe work area in the Seafood Department.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak English fluently.
• Ability to work with fresh, frozen, and processed seafood.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Good math skills and basic arithmetic.
• Able to interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Able to stand, walk, and work across shifts and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Prepare, package, and display seafood according to standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe operation of the seafood department.
• Monitor product freshness and rotate stock as needed.
• Check invoicing, pricing, and records for accuracy.
