Job summary

ShopRite in Egg Harbor Township, NJ is seeking a Seafood Clerk to operate the seafood department and deliver a great customer experience. You will prepare and pack fresh and frozen seafood according to company standards and assist customers with product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, speak English and understand instructions.
• Work with fresh, dried and/or processed seafood including shellfish.
• Tolerate dust and chemical agents during routine duties.
• Perform basic math and measurement tasks.
• Stand/walk for long scheduled shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Receive, date, prepare, store, price-mark and restock seafood.
• Differentiate seafood varieties and advise on use and price differences.
• Maintain freshness and quality of product.
• Handle damaged products per company policy.
• Monitor refrigeration and report failures promptly.
• Ensure clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Follow safety, QA and sanitation standards and policies.
