Job summary

ShopRite of Fair Lawn in New Jersey is seeking a Seafood Clerk to maintain the Seafood Department and deliver a great customer experience. You will prepare and pack fresh and frozen seafood according to department standards.

This role requires standing for long shifts, the ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Prior seafood knowledge is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Handle fresh, dried and processed seafood products.
• Tolerate dust and chemical agents during duties.
• Perform basic math.
• Stand/walk for scheduled shifts.
• Lift 25 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Provide friendly customer service and work with others.
• Follow attendance policies and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Receive, code-date, prepare, store, price-mark, and restock products.
• Differentiate seafood varieties by taste, prep, and price differences.
• Maintain freshness and quality of products.
• Handle damaged or spoiled products per policy.
• Check refrigeration equipment and report failures.
• Keep a clean, organized, safe work area.
• Operate equipment and report issues per QA standards.
• Adhere to health, safety, and store regulations.
• Stand 8+ hours; promote current charitable promotions.
