Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking team members for the meat department in West Hartford, CT. You will assist Members, answer questions about meats, and help with merchandising and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have experience with fresh and processed meats, wrapping equipment, and a background in meat/deli operations. 18+ and reliable attendance are expected to uphold club standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience in meat/deli department preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood. Makes recommendations on food products when necessary.
• Weights, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinds. Aids in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery, ensuring it meets company quality standards.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates; disposes of damaged items as needed.
• Maintains clean and sanitized meat department and equipment; supports club policies and procedures.
