Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in North Haven, CT is hiring for a Meat Department Team Member to assist Members with questions about meats and related products. You will weigh, wrap, label, and portion meat and seafood, help rotate stock, and maintain cleanliness and safety in the meat area.

Candidates should have experience with fresh/processed meats and wrapping machines, and be at least 18 years old. This role involves standing and lifting in a fast-paced environment and requires teamwork and customer

Qualifications

• Experience with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience in meat/deli department preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members by answering questions about meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Weigh, wrap, label and portion meat and seafood, including grinding when needed.
• Inspect deliveries and ensure meat/seafood quality meets standards.
• Keep meat, seafood and prepared foods cases stocked and rotated by expiry date.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the meat department.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
