Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Meat Department Associate to receive, rotate, wrap, and merchandise meat, seafood, and prepared foods while helping Members with questions.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety standards, stocking cases, and maintaining clean, organized displays. Must be at least 18 years old with previous meat/deli experience; expect a fast-paced environment and weekly pay. This role offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Makes recommendations on food products when necessary.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Assists the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood.
• May grind hamburger meat.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery and ensures quality.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Follows disposal guidelines for damaged/expired products.
• Receives and unpacks meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, fixtures, and meat area.
