Job summary

Harris Teeter is seeking a Full Time Deli Bakery Management Assistant in Herndon, VA. You will assist to manage up to 80 associates in the Fresh Foods Department and support the Department Manager in overall direction, coordination, and evaluation.

Responsibilities include supervising bakery tasks, interviewing and training staff, planning and directing work, and addressing complaints to maintain high standards of service and efficiency in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to complete training and work with team.
• Completion of Harris Teeter training programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of baker/fryer, cake decorator, fresh foods clerk, and chef.
• Interviewing and training associates.
• Planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Assist in appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.
