Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist customers in selecting fresh, healthy options and to prepare and present deli items with care. You will handle orders, operate slicers and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean, safe deli environment. Flexibility with schedule and strong teamwork are required.

The role emphasizes friendly customer interactions, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in cool and cold environments while supporting daily deli operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent or education/experience combination.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and move up to 20 feet without assistance.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift in total.
• Maintain clean, sanitary deli area and equipment.
• Operate deli equipment and maintain all equipment in safe condition.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory requirements; Food Handlers permit.
• Work in cooler and freezer environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in preparing fresh and easy meals.
• Ensure deli items are prepared, packaged, presented, and clean.
• Fill, maintain, rotate products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate slicers, ovens, microwaves, and cutting tools per standards.
• Keep deli area clean, safe, and sanitary including floors and shelves.
• Receive, inspect, and log product shipments for temperature and quality.
