Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is hiring a Deli Clerk to join our fast-paced deli team. You will assist customers, prepare fresh meals, slice meats and cheeses, and ensure displays are clean and appealing while following safety standards.

The role requires reliability, flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and excellent communication to provide high-level service. Physical stamina to lift up to 70 lbs is also expected.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Flexible schedule that changes with the business, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Capable of lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs. up to 20 feet without assistance for up to 4 hours.
• Able to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department and maintain equipment safety.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory requirements; obtain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in cooler and freezer environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy foods by preparing fresh and easy meals.
• Provide high-level customer service and ensure deli items are prepared, packaged, and displayed cleanly.
• Fill, rotate, and maintain products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate deli equipment following standards and procedures.
• Keep the deli area clean, safe, and sanitary including floors and shelves.
• Receive, inspect, and log product shipments for quality and accuracy.
