Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) is hiring a Conductor in Georgia to move freight safely with classroom and on-the-job training. You’ll work outdoors in all weather, with a physically active role and opportunities for growth. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and effective communication with the team.

The role includes shift work in a 24/7 environment, pre-employment checks, and relocation considerations within 50 miles. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in a safety-sensitive environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all federal, state, and railroad safety regulations.
• Coordinate train movements with the team using signals and radio.
• Operate track switches to determine train routes.
• Inspect the train and equipment for safety in movement and at rest.
• Read and follow rule books and related documentation.
• Utilize basic computer skills for electronic reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
