Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is hiring a Conductor for the Columbus and Greenville Railway in Columbus, MS. You will receive classroom and hands-on training to build a long-term freight career, working outdoors in all weather conditions to meet customer needs.

This full-time role requires strong safety compliance, effective communication, and the ability to operate track switches, inspect equipment, and document train operations. Growth opportunities exist in a dynamic railroad environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least eighteen years of age.

Responsibilities

• Comply with federal, state, and other applicable railroad safety and operational regulations.
• Coordinate train or railcar movement with team using signals or radio instructions.
• Operate track switches to determine the route of the train or rail equipment.
• Inspect the condition of the train and equipment for safety compliance.
• Read and understand the rule books and other written materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
