Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Manager I, Freight Audit and Pay, to lead freight payable workflows across Cass, Int-Ded, CBM, and Rail. You will supervise invoice exceptions, accruals, payment reviews, and process controls while partnering with internal teams, carriers, sites, and offshore resources.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 5+ years of freight payables experience, strong communication, and expertise in MS Office; experience with OTM/SAP/JDE is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, logistics, or finance preferred; equivalent experience with 5+ years in freight payables or logistics also considered.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to lead a team of ten or more members, onshore and offshore.

Aufgaben

• Oversee freight payable workflows (Cass, Int-Ded, CBM, Rail) to ensure invoices, deductions, audits, approvals, and payments are accurate and timely.
• Manage freight payment exceptions and discrepancies (invoice exceptions, rate discrepancies, aged bills, duplicate payments, missing docs).
• Review provider exception reports, identify spikes or trends, and drive timely resolution with sites, carriers, procurement, AP, IT, and corporate freight accounting.
• Monitor freight payment email boxes and inquiry queues to ensure issues are researched, assigned, and closed on time.
• Support month-end accruals, payment file reviews, GL coding, deduction activity, and exception reporting for accurate expense recognition and controls.
• Identify recurring freight payable issues, research root causes, and drive corrective actions and automation opportunities.
