Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. in Scottsdale is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise all freight operations. You will develop strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands, evaluate workloads, and ensure timely, damage-free freight handling.

You will coach staff, manage schedules, and enforce company policies to optimize network performance. The role requires 2 years of related experience, knowledge of LTL and DOT rules, and the ability to work various shifts,

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• LTL industry knowledge, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation/Distribution/Logistics or 4 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and address workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce all applicable policies and regulations to optimize network performance.
• Ensure timely, damage-free customer freight processing, handling, loading and delivery.
• Coach and develop employees including new hire evaluations and corrective actions.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
