Job summary

DSV is seeking an Operations Supervisor for Dock B shift in Clarksville, TN. The role oversees day-to-day freight handling activities, directing a team of freight handlers and coordinating loading, unloading, and related tasks to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper documentation, planning workflows, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has a logistics background, at least 3–5 years in supervisory roles, and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in freight operations or logistics roles, with supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of freight handling processes and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in using WMS and TMS.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise freight handling teams, including training, coaching and evaluations.
• Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance for efficiency.
• Coordinate loading, unloading, and handling of freight shipments.
• Ensure proper documentation, labeling and packaging in compliance with regulations.
• Plan and prioritize freight operations to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Monitor workflow and adjust resources to optimize efficiency.
• Liaise with customers, carriers and stakeholders to coordinate movements.
• Ensure timely communication and resolution of customer concerns.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy of handling processes.
• Conduct inspections and audits to maintain service quality.
• Enforce safety protocols and provide safety training.
• Oversee inventory control and reconciliation.
• Prepare operational reports with metrics and inventory levels.
• Maintain documentation of freight movements, bills of lading, shipping manifests.
