Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; degree preferred
• Experience in logistics dispatch/scheduling preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft and logistics software
• Ability to work under pressure using independent judgment
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Team-oriented with cross-department collaboration
• Adaptability to changing workload and priorities

Responsibilities

• Partner with dispatchers and fleet managers to plan and carry out shipping operations
• Develop daily operating plan with emphasis on achieving established department KPI’s
• Evaluate current operating plan and create future plans with focus on payload, on-time deliveries, and loaded mile percentage
• Engage with Scheduling Team Leader(s) on growth and improvement opportunities
• Assess and adjust operating plans to maximize growth, efficiency and safety
• Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities
• Update sourcing as changes occur and revise daily operating plan accordingly
• Maintain positive work atmosphere to meet company demands
• Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and other departments
• Manage day-to-day operations of up to 75 drivers
• Coordinate maintenance issues with Terminal Managers and Lead Technicians
