Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Indiana to oversee all aspects of freight operations, develop procedures, and manage workloads. You will supervise hourly staff, enforce safety policies, and ensure on-time, damage-free delivery while optimizing costs.

Ideal candidates have warehouse experience, LTL knowledge, and flexibility for various shifts. The role includes developing action plans, coaching staff, and coordinating with safety and compliance teams to uphold

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and be primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily operations goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Ensure customer freight is processed, handled, loaded and delivered timely and damage free.
• Coach employees on safety rules and quality requirements and conduct evaluations.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
