Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, develop procedures, and manage workloads.

You will coordinate shifts, monitor tonnage and payroll, and ensure on-time, damage-free delivery while upholding safety and regulatory standards. The role requires experience in warehousing or transportation, knowledge of LTL and DOT rules, and the ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, or transportation environments.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules.
• Availability for days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Distribution or Logistics or 4 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement procedures to meet department needs.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and address workplace questions.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin tasks.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce all applicable policies and regulations.
• Coach employees on safety and quality requirements.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
