Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Indianapolis. You will lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, developing procedures to meet evolving department demands and ensuring timely, damage-free delivery of customer freight.

The role requires 2 years of related experience, knowledge of LTL and regulatory rules, and flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar.
• Knowledge of the LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules.
• Able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet demands
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks
• Supervise hourly staff and be primary contact for workplace concerns
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage and payroll
• Plan hourly staff schedules to meet daily goals and reduce costs
• Enforce applicable policies and regulations to optimize network performance
• Ensure customer freight is processed, loaded and delivered on time
• Coach and develop employees and conduct evaluations
