Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations across shifts at our US facilities. You will develop strategic work procedures, evaluate workloads, supervise hourly staff, manage tonnage and payroll, and enforce FMCSR, OSHA, DOT policies to optimize network performance.

The role requires 2+ years in warehouse or logistics, knowledge of LTL, and the ability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department needs.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and be the primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and administrative functions.
• Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Implement workplace policies and procedures to optimize network performance.
• Ensure customer freight is processed, handled, loaded and delivered timely and damage-free.
• Coach and develop employees, conduct new hire evaluations, and determine corrective actions.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals and participate in safety committees.
• Train employees on safety rules and processes; maintain shift organization.
• Inspect tools/equipment for safe operation and direct corrective actions as needed.
• Provide input for improving operations within the shift and service center.
• Champion XPO values and push the team to high standards.
• Minimize shipment rehandle by prioritizing direct loading and stock loading while maintaining quality.
