Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Load Planner in Beachwood, OH to coordinate freight movement, plan shipments, and tender freight to carriers. You will update the Transportation Manager System, respond to inquiries, and provide shipment visibility to customers and management.

The role requires a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), 1+ year logistics experience, strong communication, and the ability to work multiple shifts with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required, Bachelor's preferred
• 1+ year Transportation/Supply Chain experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and urgency
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn and operate various computer systems across platforms
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and Penske associates
• Use critical thinking to analyze information, decide within SOP, and solve problems
• Willingness to travel and work varied shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Load-building: add shipments, rate loads, secure carrier coverage and appointments
• Provide excellent customer service to assigned accounts
• Handle call center and shared email box communications
• Provide visibility by tracking shipments and performing oversight and audits
• Recover customer loads when needed
• Complete daily logs and trackers; coach others by phone/email
• Undertake other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
