Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking Load Planners in Beachwood, OH to coordinate freight movement, process orders, plan shipments, and tender freight to third-party carriers. The role includes tracking shipments, providing visibility to management and customers, and resolving operational issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
• 1+ year experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to learn and operate various computer systems across platforms.
• Ability to build professional relationships with customers and Penske associates.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to analyze information and decide actions within SOP.
• Ability to work First, Second and Third shifts; scheduling flexibility.
• Plus One mentality; willingness to travel; background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Load-building: add shipments to a load, rate a load, secure carrier coverage and appointment setting.
• Provide excellent customer service to assigned accounts.
• Handle call center and shared email box responsibilities.
• Provide shipment visibility to management and customer; track, audit, investigate, troubleshoot.
• Recover customer loads.
• Complete daily logs and trackers; provide instructions to other shifts by phone and email.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
