Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a dock/warehouse associate to move freight across the dock area and assist with loading to and from trailers. The role requires operating forklifts and pallet jacks, verifying freight documents, and securing loads for transport.

Responsibilities include documenting activities, assisting customers with freight questions, and performing hostling duties if needed. This position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Move freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify freight documents match descriptions (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documents as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
