Job summary

Estes Express Lines seeks a dock worker in Illinois to load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand. You will strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage and record the condition of freight on arrival at the service center.

You must meet pre-employment requirements, work all shifts including overtime and weekends, and have the physical ability to lift 70 lbs as needed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior operation of a forklift or forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment.
• Attend work as scheduled and be available for overtime and weekends.
