Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a dock associate responsible for loading and unloading freight using a forklift, pallet jack, and manual handling. You will strap and pad loads to prevent damage and accurately record the freight condition as it arrives at the service center.

The role requires lifting ~70 lbs, standing, walking, and the ability to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends. A forklift certification is preferred, and good teamwork and safety awareness are essential for success

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Must be 17+ years old.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior forklift operation or forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to push/pull a loaded pallet jack/hand truck (≥70 lbs).
• Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting, twisting, etc.
• Ability to work all shifts, overtime and weekends; dependable.
• Able to lift ~70 lbs or more as required.
• Adherence to company policies and conduct.
• Able to interact well with others and work independently or in a team.
• Capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Able to read, interpret and comply with safety rules and manuals.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance.
