Motion Recruitment Partners is seeking a Freight Forwarding Process Analyst on a 4-month consulting engagement. The role focuses on documenting current-state freight forwarding processes, facilitating cross-functional workshops, and delivering future-state recommendations.

Travel is 25-40% across the U.S. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in process improvement or consulting, strong knowledge of freight forwarding operations, and proficiency with process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in process improvement, business analysis, operations, or consulting.
• Direct experience with freight forwarding operations.
• Hands-on with process mapping and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
• Experience leading process discovery and cross-functional workshops.
• Ability to work independently with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of quote-to-book, documentation, customs, ocean/air, and billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate process discovery workshops with ops, commercial, and support teams.
• Document current-state freight forwarding processes end-to-end.
• Lead Value Stream Mapping and process mapping sessions.
• Identify bottlenecks, handoffs, waste, rework, and inefficiencies.
• Gather input from frontline employees and leaders.
• Develop standardized process maps, SIPOCs, and supporting docs.
• Translate workshop findings into prioritized improvement recommendations.
• Support future-state design and transformation initiatives.
• Develop dashboards or scorecards to track opportunities and progress.
