Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced freight forwarding specialist to manage ocean imports, including customs clearance and delivery to final destination. You will coordinate with carriers, brokers, and trucking services to ensure timely delivery and provide proactive updates to customers.

Strong English communication, knowledge of shipping regulations, and proficiency with logistics software are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics or related field preferred.
• Ocean imports experience highly desirable.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics software.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean import shipments from origin to final destination including customs clearance.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers and trucking companies for timely delivery.
• Track shipments and provide updates to customers as needed.
• Prepare and submit required customs documents (invoices, bills of lading, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and deliver exceptional service.

• Manage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Track shipments and provide updates to customers as needed
• Prepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws
• Manage relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service

Requirements

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred
• Experience in ocean imports is highly desirable
• Fluency in English is required
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred
