Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a freight forwarding professional to manage ocean exports from Houston. The role involves carrier booking, documentation for customs, and coordinating multiple departments to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field.
• Ocean exports experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and shipping docs.

Responsibilities

• Manage exportation of goods by ocean, including carrier booking and moving shipments through transport channels.
• Prepare and process documentation for customs clearance, including invoices, packing lists and bills of lading.
• Track shipments and provide customers with regular status updates.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage the exportation of goods by ocean, including carrier booking and managing the movement of goods through various transportation channels
• Prepare and process required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading
• Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to customers on the status of their shipments
• Manage relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise
• Collaborate with other internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and operations, to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred
• Experience in ocean exports is highly desirable
• Mathematical skills for basic calculations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations
• Understanding of trade laws and regulations
• Fluency in English is required
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred
