Scotts Miracle-Gro in Geismar, LA is seeking a Dispatch Operations Specialist to coordinate freight for our Growing Media operations. You will negotiate rates, track shipments, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations while supporting office tasks and production scheduling.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2+ years in traffic or freight, with strong leadership and communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Monday–Friday, full-time, on-site position.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma required.
• Two years of traffic or freight experience.
• Prior dispatching trucks experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer use.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with a customer-service focus.
• Prior negotiation experience.
• Knowledge of state, local and federal DOT regulations.
• Knowledge of standard office procedures.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate freight for Scotts and Growing Media to maximize efficiency and ensure timely deliveries.
• Negotiate freight rates with contract carriers.
• Maintain records and paperwork for private fleet and contract carriers to stay compliant with regulations.
• Advise customers on delivery scheduling and order issues; develop production schedules with Production Supervisor.
• Assist with general office duties and production entry tasks as needed.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
