Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is seeking a Dispatch Operations Specialist to join our Carrollton, KY team. The role focuses on coordinating freight for speed and efficiency, negotiating carrier rates, and ensuring compliance across private fleet and contracted carriers.

You will handle scheduling, paperwork, and customer communications, while supporting production and logistics teams across plants. This is an onsite role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma is required.
• Two years experience in a traffic or freight related field.
• Previous experience dispatching trucks.
• Microsoft Office and computer skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with a customer service focus.
• Prior negotiation experience.
• Knowledge of state, local and federal DOT regulations.
• Knowledge of office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Scotts and Growing Media freight ensuring maximum efficiency as well as timely deliveries.
• Negotiate freight rates with contract carriers.
• Maintain records and paperwork for private fleet and contract carriers to ensure compliance with regulations; confirm orders and bills of lading.
• Advise customers on delivery scheduling and resolve order issues; coordinate shipments with Production Supervisor and plant teams.
