Responsibilities include managing orders, schedules, and cross-functional collaboration with production teams across Growing Media Plants. Strong communication and DOT knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma
• Two years experience in a traffic or freight related field.
• Previous experience dispatching trucks
• Microsoft Office and computer skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple priorities at once with a strong customer service orientation
• Prior Negotiation experience
• Knowledge of state, local and federal DOT regulations
• Knowledge of office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate freight for Scotts and Growing Media to maximize efficiency and timely deliveries.
• Negotiate freight rates with contract carriers.
• Maintain and process records to ensure compliance with regulations for private fleet and contract carriers.
• Confirm and/or process orders and bills of lading.
• Advise customers on delivery scheduling and order problems; develop production schedules with the Production Supervisor; coordinate shipments across plants.
• Cross train and fill in general office duties as needed (scale operation, AP, production entry, inventory posting).
• Perform special projects and other office duties as requested.
