Job summary

Legacy Trans in Salt Lake City, UT, is hiring a Transportation Coordinator to plan, dispatch, and manage daily freight operations for the company fleet. You will serve as the main contact for owner operators, ensuring loads are picked up and delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with DOT regulations.

You will optimize utilization, monitor progress, and communicate with customers, brokers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of dispatch, carrier sales, or transportation experience.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of industry software and TMS platforms preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, dispatch, and manage daily freight operations for Legacy Transportation's fleet.
• Serve as the primary contact for owner operators and ensure on-time, compliant loads.
• Coordinate loads to maximize productivity and minimize empty miles.
• Communicate proactively with drivers about delays, issues, and service disruptions.
• Monitor performance and assist with load planning and capacity planning.
