Job summary

CSX is seeking a Freight Conductor to safely coordinate train crews, manage car movements, and perform yard tasks across locations. Training includes four weeks in Atlanta with hotel provided and meal allowances, plus on-the-job pay and potential overtime earnings.

Candidates must pass drug tests and background checks, and be willing to relocate within 50 miles of the posted location. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong reading/comprehension and communication skills are required.
• Ability to read and understand operating rules, bulletins and other written materials.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with railroad rules and FRA regulations.
• Safely perform all job responsibilities and inspect equipment before depart.
• Receive and transmit information by radio and telephone.
• Read bulletins, work orders and switch lists.
• Assist with coupling/uncoupling and operate switches.
• Work with customers to ensure proper car movement and service.
