Job summary

CSX is seeking a Freight Conductor to safely coordinate train crews, couple/uncouple cars, and move freight in yards and at customer sites. You will read signals, follow FRA regulations, and work with yardmasters to ensure timely, safe operations.

New hires receive paid training at the Atlanta Training Center, including a four-week program, hotel stay, meal allowances, and travel reimbursements. Relocation is possible within 50 miles and a strong safety record is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least one year of related experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend all instructions including operating rules, bulletins, regulatory documents and other written communications.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with FRA rules and signals.
• Inspect equipment before departures.
• Receive and transmit information by radio/phone.
• Operate switches and perform minor railcar repairs.
• Coordinate with customers to ensure correct car movements and service.
