Job summary

TalaTrans Worldwide Corporation seeks a Freight Broker / Logistics Sales Executive to support existing customer relationships, coordinate freight movements, and drive new business growth in a fast-paced environment. This in-office role in the Chicago area concentrates on carrier management, rate negotiation, and building long-term customer and carrier relationships while delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or 3PL environments.
• Understanding of freight brokerage operations, carrier management, and transportation services.
• Experience using DAT, Highway, load boards, transportation management systems, or similar logistics platforms preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable spending a significant portion of the day on the phone with carriers and customers.
• Business development, sales, or account management experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of FTL, LTL, and other freight solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage freight shipments from pickup through delivery.
• Source and secure qualified carriers utilizing DAT and other load boards.
• Verify carrier authority, insurance, and compliance requirements using Highway and related platforms.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and customers to maximize profitability.
• Build and maintain relationships with carriers, drivers, shippers, and logistics partners.
• Track shipments and proactively communicate updates, delays, and service issues.
• Prepare and distribute rate confirmations and shipping documentation.
• Develop new business opportunities through phone prospecting and customer outreach.
• Grow existing customer accounts through exceptional service and relationship management.
• Resolve transportation issues and ensure successful freight delivery.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
