Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Associate, Vocational, or Technical Degree or equivalent work experience in Business/Management/Accounting.
• Experience: 3-5 years clerical experience in Billing, Accounts Receivable, Payable or Bookkeeping.
• Strong math, data analysis, and accuracy; proficient with MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular communications with carriers to ensure timely receipt of freight bills and supporting documentation, reconciliation and resolve past due amounts.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all freight rating issues and carrier disputes.
• Manage invoicing exceptions discovered after the automated system audit and manual review, resolving them to maintain aging of invoices under 60 days from delivery date.
• Prepare error-free customer bills on a weekly basis in compliance with billing requirements and respond to ad hoc requests for billing information.
• Interpret carrier tariffs to communicate with carriers for invoice resolution and to identify pricing improvements.
• Work with the EDI Support team to identify potential EDI failures and pursue opportunities to convert carriers to electronic invoicing.
• Frequent communication with Operations for accessorial or rates approvals and shipment completions.
• Communicate professionally with customers and carriers via email and phone.
• Create and maintain weekly and monthly schedules to work independently and with supervisor input.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
