Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Freight Bill Coordinator in the Suffolk area to manage and reconcile freight bills, research variances, and support audit and payment operations. You will work with carriers and internal teams to validate charges and maintain records with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience; advanced Excel/Word skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing billing information.
• Analytical skills to identify discrepancies and propose resolutions.
• Good organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Dispute Review and Resolution: review disputes for accuracy and ensure timely approvals/denials.
• Training and Process Documentation: provide training on the Accessorials process and document variance exceptions.
• Analysis and Coordination: conduct root-cause analysis for totals not in line with contractual rates and coordinate with departments to validate requests.
