Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring for a Custodian on the 3rd Shift at our Taunton, MA distribution center. You will perform cleaning duties, sweep, mop, and vacuum to keep a safe, orderly environment for team members handling products in extreme temperatures.

No prior experience required; full training provided. Must be able to work 2nd shift rotation and weekends as needed, and pass background and drug screening. Benefits start day one and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime.
• Must lift up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and empty trash to maintain clean facilities.
• Clear snow and maintain landscaping around the distribution center.
• Operate and assist with basic cleaning equipment as required.
• Maintain buildings in safe, organized condition across extreme temperatures.
• Support shift with other custodial tasks as needed.

Distribution Center Address: 630 John Hancock Rd, Taunton MA

Pay: Starting at $20.52/hour (includes a $1.00 2nd shift premium)

• 2nd Shift - Sunday - Thursday 10pm - 6:30am
• Fridays and Saturdays off

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As a custodian, you'll support our team by maintaining the buildings to ensure clean, organized operations. You will also sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, empty the trash, clear snow, and maintain the landscaping. You can expect to work in extreme temperatures (-25F to 100F) in the distribution center. There's no experience required - we'll train you how to get the job done!

• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• We have frozen products - your ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required while you're here.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions).
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check.
