Qualifications

• Required: Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Required: Ability to ski Advanced and Expert terrain proficiently.
• Required: Ability to multi-task and follow management directions.
• Required: Ability to work with Ski Team Supervisors and coaches.
• Required: Ability to teach Advanced and Expert-level skiers including terrain park progressions.
• Required: Pass a background check.
• Required: Alpine skis, tuned; bindings calibrated; boots compatible.
• Required: Minimum one season with Mt. Rose Ski Team or as a Freeride athlete.
• Required: Active IFSA L100 and SafeSport certifications.
• Preferred: PSIA L2+ or IFSA L200+ within last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Coach small groups (3-12) of Freeride ski team athletes (ages 9-18) focusing on safety, fun, and skill development.
• Follow USSS and PSIA coaching methods and prepare athletes for Freeride competitions.
• Teach safety protocols and group handling procedures during coaching sessions.
• Travel to regional competitions and assist with dryland and on-snow training.
• Assist with equipment recommendations and maintenance for Freeride athletes.
• Administer the Athlete Development Curriculum and provide feedback and coaching.
