Job summary

Mt. Rose Development Company seeks an All Mountain Programs Ski Team Coach to mentor athletes aged 6–16, following USSS/PSIA methods. You will teach safety, skill development, and group handling while coordinating with a partner coach.

Responsibilities include conducting drills, tracking progress, and supporting ski school operations. A background check and weekend availability are required; advanced gear setup must be current and calibrated.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills required.
• Ability to ski Advanced to Beginner terrain with proper fundamentals.
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and follow directions.
• Ability to work with a partner coach and fellow Ski Team coaches.
• Teach Beginner to Advanced level skiers.
• Background check required.
• Must work at least one weekend day during the season.
• Equipment must be professional and calibration checked.
• Preferred: Saturday/Sunday coaching for duration of season.
• Preferred: Ski racing experience and related administration.
• Preferred: Freeride coaching and familiarity with PSIA/USSS.

Responsibilities

• Must work 20+ shifts minimum throughout the season.
• Maintain SafeSport certification or complete training by deadline (employer pays).
• Assist in general operation of ski school and resort activities.
• Observe and teach ski team safety, group handling, and training rules.
• Establish rapport with athletes and families; conduct day debriefs.
• Communicate issues to coaches, Supervisors, and Ski Patrol.
• Run drills, provide feedback, and develop athlete skills.
• Read training day emails and materials/content.
• Assist in events including races and end-of-season evaluations.
• Assist in Rosebuds, Ski School and other departments during holidays.
