Job summary

Edera L3C is seeking a freelance Technical Editor to join our healthcare innovation team. You will review, edit, and improve technical documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and usability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, or related field.
• 3+ years editing technical content in healthcare, IT, or related environments.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Familiarity with knowledge management tools.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Edit, revise, and proofread technical documents including manuals, product guides, whitepapers, knowledge base articles, and technical specifications.
• Ensure documentation adheres to company style guides, terminology standards, and brand voice.
• Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, user-friendly language.
• Collaborate with writers, engineers, product managers, and designers to gather information and verify accuracy.
• Maintain and update documentation standards, templates, and best practices.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure consistency, completeness, and regulatory compliance (if applicable).
• Manage version control and documentation workflows to support iterative product development.
• Provide feedback and coaching to authors on writing structure, clarity, and technical accuracy.
• Support documentation planning for product releases, updates, and new features.
