Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services seeks an on-site InPerson Interpreter for all languages to facilitate direct communication between LEP patients and healthcare providers at Brooksville, FL. This freelance role offers flexibility and access to the AMN InPerson Interpreting (IPI) App for scheduling sessions across partner facilities.

Fluency in English plus another language, adherence to ethics, HIPAA training, and demonstrated language proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Fluent and have strong verbal communication skills in both the source and target language, e.g., English and another language.
• Extensive knowledge of code of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
• HIPAA Training for Business Associates certificate (recent within last year).
• Proof of language proficiency via a medically based assessment (LangStat, Reach Diversity, Language Testing Intl).
• Accredited Medical Interpreting Training course (ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, MiTio, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting service for consumers.
• Maintain professional appearance and punctuality for shifts.
• Adapt quickly to new and changing technologies.
• Pass screening before taking in-person commitments.
• Adhere to interpreter ethics and procedural requirements in medical contexts.
• Respect LEP clients and cultural differences during medical procedures.
