Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services in Sarasota, FL seeks an Onsite InPerson Interpreter for all languages. This freelance role connects patients and providers in medical settings using our AMN InPerson Interpreting (IPI) App to schedule sessions.

You will provide effective onsite interpreting, maintain professional appearance, adapt to new technology, pass screenings, and uphold ethics to serve LEP patients with care.

Qualifications

• Fluent in source and target language with strong verbal skills.
• Familiar with IMIA, NBCMI and NCIHC ethics standards.
• HIPAA Training for Business Associates certificate.
• Proven language proficiency via approved medical assessments.
• Completed accredited medical interpreting training (40-hour or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting service for patients in medical settings.
• Maintain professional appearance, punctuality and preparedness for shifts.
• Demonstrate ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
• Pass screening before taking in-person commitments.
• Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedures for medical contexts.
• Respect LEP clients’ culture and preferences in medical procedures.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and interpreting.
