Job summary

Gurstel Law Firm, P.C. seeks a Frauds & Disputes Specialist in Minnesota to manage fraud and dispute claims, review client communications, and ensure accurate data entry in our databases. You will upload materials to client portals and assist attorneys with timely responses.

You will work closely with Attorneys and Clients, maintain cross-functional processes, and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Some remote work may be approved; travel is minimal, and benefits are provided by the firm.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; legal field certificate/2-year degree preferred or substitution permitted.
  • Experience in Retail Claims and Creditors’ Rights Laws is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data-entry.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all Fraud and Dispute claims per policies and client directives.
  • Review correspondence for accurate data entry into databases for reporting.
  • Report Fraud and Dispute claims to clients per policies.
  • Upload documents to clients via portal and email.
  • Pull work queues to review pending claims for next steps.
  • Draft responses for attorney review and approval.
  • Perform general clerical duties (data entry, scanning, copying, filing).
  • Collaborate with Attorneys and Clients to handle claims; other duties as assigned.
  • Position may allow remote work with some office time pending approval.

Gurstel Law Firm, P.C. – Fraud and Disputes Specialist

The Centralization Department within Gurstel Law Firm. P.C. is a Department of four separate team; Judgment Entry, Mail Entry, Frauds & Disputes and Affidavits. The team consists of specific employees that specialize in each of their individual tasks. These sections have been identified as having similar job functions across all of the Firm’s states and therefore, identified to be housed within a specific team for consistency, both with regulatory concerns and client directives.

Primary Job Funictions/Responsibilities

As a Frauds & Disputes Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Handling of all of Firm’s Fraud and Dispute claims in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures and client directives.
  • Review of correspondence to ensure accuracy of information entered into the database system for proper reporting to clients.
  • Report, as necessary, any and all Fraud and Dispute claims to clients, in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Uploading correspondence and applicable information to clients via client portal, e-mail, etc.
  • Pull work queues to promptly review all pending claims for next steps.
  • Draft applicable responses for attorney review and approval.
  • Perform general clerical duties including data entry, scanning, photocopying, collating, and faxing.
  • Work with Attorneys and Clients to properly handle fraud and dispute claims. All other duties as assigned.
  • Position might have the availability to work remotely with some office time, depending upon Manager/Director/Human Resources approval.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Responsible individual who is able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • Legal field certificate/2-yr degree (experience may be substituted for education),
  • Background in Retail Claims and Creditors’ Rights Laws preferred
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Organizational.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with basic office hardware such as scanners, fax machine, copiers, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to Detail.
  • Superior problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and dependability.
Travel

This position requires up to 0-5% travel. Travel excludes local commute. Travel into office to complete work as needed.
