Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a Fraud Risk professional to help stay ahead of threats across wealth management, brokerage, and banking channels. You will assess controls, design improvements, and leverage automation and AI to enhance governance and risk detection.

You will collaborate with product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and legal teams to implement practical, scalable solutions, while supporting governance through documentation and tracking of recommendations.

Qualifications

• Experience in fraud risk management, controls, operational risk, or oversight within wealth management, brokerage, banking, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of fraud threats, control design, and risk assessment practices across client, operational, and digital channels.
• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and translate them into practical, scalable solutions.
• Familiarity with automation, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities relevant to fraud risk management and control optimization.
• Experience evaluating products, processes, or technology solutions through a risk and control lens.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present recommendations clearly.
• Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in industry forums and external engagements to stay current on fraud threats and evolving technology solutions.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and market practices to strengthen fraud oversight.
• Identify and lead opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in fraud risk and control activities.
• Evaluate AI and other technologies to improve governance, workflows, and risk detection.
• Assess fraud technology solutions for fit, effectiveness, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive practical fraud risk solutions and business cases.
• Support governance and oversight by documenting findings and tracking recommendations to execution.
