Job summary

The Vanguard Group seeks a senior technical leader to design, build, and deliver a unified fraud case management platform. You will integrate multiple applications into one scalable, resilient platform while guiding AI‑assisted engineering practices across teams.

You will influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and define roadmaps to enable onboarding of additional fraud capabilities globally. The role blends strategic architecture with hands‑on delivery in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10+ years of application engineering experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Graduate degree preferred.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, integrations, APIs, and modern application architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction without direct authority.
• Mentoring engineers and helping establish engineering best practices.
• Leveraging AI‑assisted development tools within modern software engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical design and implementation of a modern fraud case management platform.
• Partner with architects, engineers, and product leaders to establish a scalable and resilient platform strategy.
• Make architectural and engineering decisions balancing speed with maintainability and operations.
• Contribute to solution design, technical planning, and critical engineering decisions.
• Drive adoption of AI‑assisted engineering practices to improve productivity and code quality.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging AI capabilities into engineering workflows.
• Build partnerships to identify opportunities for AI‑driven capabilities within the fraud platform.
