Job summary

Pathward is seeking a Level 1 Fraud Analyst to triage and investigate alerts across fraud typologies, document findings, and escalate SAR/CTR where applicable. You will work with multiple monitoring populations and perform card actions to mitigate loss, while ensuring regulatory and QA standards are met.

You will handle inbound/outbound calls on fraud issues, maintain SLAs, and collaborate across systems to identify patterns and reduce risk in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Typically less than two years of related experience.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in transaction analysis and documentation.
• Ability to manage daily workload and meet same-day and SLA-driven deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-sufficient and well organized across multiple systems and monitoring reports.
• Foundational understanding of fraud red flags and typologies.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and triages fraud alerts and monitoring reports to identify unusual activity.
• Establishes expected activity profile and compares observed vs. expected activity.
• Makes triage determinations and advances cases as needed.
• Conducts end-to-end fraud case investigations gathering data from multiple sources.
• Performs case build-out, evidence gathering, and case closure.
• Prepares and refers SAR/CTR-eligible activity to BSA/AML Operations.
• Executes card actions and documents actions in systems.
• Documents all activity for regulator/auditor review.
• Escalates high-risk indicators for immediate attention.
• Answers inbound/outbound calls related to fraud monitoring and verification.
• Maintains SLAs, production, and quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
