Job summary

Houston Federal Credit Union in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a responsible risk management support professional to assist the Risk Manager and VP of Risk Management. This role centers on security and loss prevention, with duties in the main Sugar Land office.

Responsibilities include CTRs, Bank Secrecy Act reports, OFAC, Verafin alerts, fraud investigations, subpoenas and garnishments, and supporting member services with fraud affidavits. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of 2–5 years in similar or related roles; credit union experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Strong organizational, editing, and numerical skills; proficient with Word and spreadsheets; good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Review, complete, and submit Currency Transaction Reports promptly.
• Review and process daily Bank Secrecy Act reports.
• Contact shared branch credit unions for evidence of CTRs.
• Complete and submit Suspicious Activity Reports promptly.
• Maintain credit union insurance policies and obtain Certificates of Insurance.
• Obtain insurance certificates or policy changes.
• Conduct the RRQ annually for CUNA.
• Report possible loss or legal claims.
• Review Verafin Fraud alerts daily.
• Assist with fraud affidavits and reimbursements.
• Review, clear, and submit OFAC (314a).
• Respond to all 314(b) requests and save files.
• Process subpoenas, receiverships, garnishments, liens, and levies.
• Process member letters for garnishments and set alerts.
• Access Tele Chex to report lost/stolen checks.
• Review fraud investigations, file police reports, follow up with law enforcement.
• Research identity theft cases and save files electronically.
• Other duties as assigned.
